Baptisms

Baptisms

A baptism, or christening, is a unique moment when a human being becomes a member of the Christian Faith.  Baptism is a gift that the church bestows upon people at any time of their life.  During the service, water is poured over us and we are washed clean of all the things that we all sadly do in life which goes against God’s loving desire for the world.

Godparents have an important part to play and they should be baptised themselves.  If you are looking towards baptism, either for yourself or for your child, the Church of England website is very helpful www.churchofengland.org/christenings

If you are considering being baptised in St Andrew’s, or having your child baptised in church then we would love to hear from you.
