Dementia-friendly

 

As part of our ministry and outreach we are committed to being a dementia-friendly church.  There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and this figure will increase to over one million by 2025.  It is estimated that over 13,000 people are living with dementia in Devon and it is important that we take action now to support anyone affected by dementia to live well in their community.  

We have committed to an action that will make the lives of people living with dementia a little better by

  • being patient and understanding
  • thinking about how we can support friends and neighbours in our community who have been diagnosed with dementia, or who may be caring for someone with dementia
  • by creating a dementia-friendly environment in our church.
