Safeguarding

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Dawn Spiller, tel: 07743719470, email: safeguarding@standrewstiverton.co.uk.  Our Priest in Charge is the Rev'd Christian Hill.  rev.christian@stpeterstiverton.org.uk

St Andrew’s has a detailed Policy in place for safeguarding and a Parish Domestic Abuse Statement, both of which comply with the standard required by the Diocese of Exeter.

The PCC of St Andrew’s Church fully recognises and accepts the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy Statement “Making a Safer Church 2017” and commits to complying with the current Church of England and Diocesan safeguarding policies and practice guidance.  In so doing we will comply with the secular multi-agency safeguarding procedures relating to children and young people and adults experiencing or at risk of harm, abuse or neglect.

Our Safeguarding Policy is renewed annually, signed by the Associate Priest and Churchwarden and safeguarding is on the agenda at every PCC meeting,

Any hall bookings where children and/or vulnerable adults will be present must complete the Diocese of Exeter “Hirers of Church Premises” Statement.  Organisations which hire St Andrew’s Church premises for work with these groups, must also have a full Safeguarding Policy of their own and must provide a full copy of this to the church before the booking commences.
